Dear Parents:
Remember that January is child assessment month; this means that our teachers will be setting up conferences with you to report on your child's progress. Conferences are an opportunity to bring up any concerns you may have about your child's development or skills, as well as learn more about how your child is doing in school. Keep your eyes peeled for any paperwork coming from our teachers in your child's cubby in the next several days.
Also, remember that January is also National Book Month! Literacy is an important aspect of your child's development. Make sure to encourage your children to go to the library and read interesting books, and read to your children at least twice a week. Finding the time to read with your child (or letting them read to you) can make them feel special and helps them develop their reading voice. Giving your children the right set of skills when they are young can help them succeed in the future.
